An Alchemical Meditation

Heaven heaves the Holy Spiration of Soul.

Issuing forth the Breath unconscious falls.

The Hydra sleeps in Mother Nature's breast,

and blows the Wind of fallen restlessness.

The Serpent snakes her way through history,

searching for the Light she cannot see.

How from her ground of Gaia can she fly,

and soar to heights of philoSophia wise?

The feminine Spirit of Mater materializes,

from earth to water to air the fire rises.

The Tree of good and evil upward climbs,

consciousness stirs and sublimates sublime.

~

Spiralling Spirit glimpses something Self-reflective,

begins to free itSelf from the mind collective.

The volatility of consciousness excites

as libidinal hunger reaches for the heights.

~

Atop the Tree the Serpent now aSpires

the Star and source of all that she desires.

Sleeping beauty awakens to her Prince,

becomes her Soul in all his brilliance.

~
The Serpent sheds her human skin outgrown,
flies towards the Sun of her true home.
From con-fusion to Fusion in its wedded Light,
the Lion roars with all his Sonic might.
~

Inside the Cup of Christic consciousness,

a final twist unveils the secret of the quest.

The taste of Spirit's fallen experience

distils the Sophic Dew of Quintessence.
